We are a sorority with a professional focus on agriculture, and encourage academic excellence, leadership, fellowship, and service among our members.
Sigma Alpha was initially founded in 1978 at the Ohio State University by five women who wanted an alternative to the social Greek sorority system. Since then, Sigma Alpha has become a national organization consisting of more than 70 chapters, comprised of undergraduate and alumni members.
The Eta Chapter at UConn was founded in 1990, and continues to bring together women from all facets of agriculture and uphold the ideals of Sigma Alpha since.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
